Apprentice Technician (Suzuki) (Alnwick)

Blackshaws is currently looking to recruit an Apprentice Technician who will be enrolled on the 3 year Suzuki Advanced Apprenticeship Programme. Suzuki training will involve structured block release at Suzuki’s state of the art Training Centre in Doncaster which is equipped with all the latest diagnostic equipment, tools and apparatus to simulate a real working environment. All training will run alongside practical work experience within Blackshaws busy workshop where our Apprentice will be under the guidance of one of our Advanced Technicians who will act as a mentor. At the end of the 3 year period it is expected that full Suzuki Technician accreditation will be achieved in addition to NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance and Repair of Light Vehicles, an IMI Technical Certificate and an Advanced Apprenticeship Completion Certificate. This is an excellent opportunity for any 16 year old school leaver who is interested in pursuing a career as a Vehicle Technician within the motor industry. In addition to a structured programme of learning within a team environment, the programme is also designed to improve communication skills and enhance personal development. Although a permanent position at Blackshaws can’t be guaranteed at the end of the apprenticeship it is hoped that an opening within the business will be found after the 3 year training programme has been completed. Apprentice Sales Assistant (Alnwick)

We currently have a vacancy for an Apprentice Sales Assistant to work in our Alnwick based Nissan and Suzuki car dealership. With responsibility for assisting our Used Car Manager, Sales Executives and Sales Administrator in general departmental administration and customer care duties this is a busy role which will include assisting with used vehicle data upload onto various web platforms and assistance with car handover duties. In addition to practical work experience and training the successful candidate will be enrolled on a Sales Apprenticeship programme with Newcastle College. We are looking for a hard working and articulate young person with a warm and courteous manner who can empathise with our customers and project a positive image of our family based business. A proactive, helpful attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team are important requirements along with accurate administration skills, good attention to detail and an aptitude for learning how to use our computerised data management system. Initially this Apprenticeship is for a minimum of 12 months and although a permanent position at Blackshaws can’t be guaranteed it is hoped that an opening will be found within the business once the Apprenticeship has been completed.
